Samsung NC10 Netbook Review

Specifications: The Samsung NC10 Netbook comes packaged with an Intel Atom N270 processor running at 1.6GHz, a standard 160 GB hard disk, 1 GB RAM, a 10.1 inch screen that has 1024 x 600 pixels in resolution and standard support for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. This is actually the standard configuration for all new netbooks in the market at present.

Design: Design-wise, the Samsung NC10 Netbook sets itself apart from the pack by sporting a stylish and stunning design with a white matte lid. The dimensions of this little warrior are 10.3 x 7.3 x 1.2 inches and it weighs approximately 2.8 pounds with the included six-cell battery. The spacious keyboard is designed to look and feel like a full-sized keyboard. The touch pad on the other hand, seems a little small. The NC10 also includes the standard port setup of 3 USB ports, a 3-in-1 memory reader, a microphone, headphone jack and VGA port.

Features & Performance: The Samsung NC10 Netbook is standard in performance due to its Intel Atom processor and minimal 1 GB RAM which will allow one to carry out simple computing tasks, e.g. surfing the web, watching movies and listening to music. Sound-wise the included speakers could be slightly louder, but this fault is negated by the crisp and sharp 1024 x 600 pixel screen which makes watching videos a pleasure. The built-in web cam is pretty impressive and the 160GB hard disk should provide space for more than a few movies and assorted media. Battery life is strong with the six-cell battery providing nearly 7 hours of computing.

Overall: In general the Samsung NC10 Netbook is similar to a lot of the netbooks offered by other vendors in the market. Its distinguishing features however are the well-designed keyboard that makes typing a pleasure as well as its long battery life and stylish design.
